The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón (ALMS) is a sports car racing series based in the United States andCanada. It consists of a series of endurance and sprint races, and was created in the spirit of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Teams compete in one of five classes: LMP1, LMP2 and LMPC Le Mans Prototypes, and GT2 and GTC Grand Touring cars. Race lengths vary from 1 hour, 40 minutes to 12 hours.

The American Le Mans Series will be holding the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix this week in Lakeville, Connecticut in the United States, held Friday, July 8th through Saturday, July 9th and starting at 2:05Pm Eastern. After that, the series moves onto the Mobil 1 Presents the Grand Prix of Mosport, in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, July 22nd through the 24th. Then, the Mid-ohio Sports Car Challenge will be held in Lexington, Ohio. The American Le Mans Northeast is the first ALMS Race after the break and the venue is Lime Rock Park. This event is one of the largest as far as drawing crowds.
The LMP1 drivers that are currently leading are Chris Dyson and Guy Smith in first, Jay Cochran in second and Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr in third. As far as the LMP1 Series, the drivers leading the way include Christophe Bouchut in first place along with Scott Tucker. Luis Diaz and Ryan Hunter Reay both have 30 and second and then, with twenty six points, Joao Barbosa comes in third. You can watch this series live from your computer or mobile.
