The Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai is a golf tournament on the Champions Tour. It is played annually in January at the Hualalai Resort Golf Club in Kaʻūpūlehu in the Kona district of Hawaiʻi island. Mitsubishi Electric is the main sponsor of the tournament. The field consists of the senior major champions of the last five years and other tournament winners of the last two years, plus a few sponsor invitees.
The purse for the 2010 tournament was US$1,800,000, with $315,000 going to the winner. The tournament was founded in 1984 as the MONY Senior Tournament of Champions.
On the Champions Tour this week is the very first tournament of the new year of golf, and the first tournament in 2012. It is the January 20th through the 22nd Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, held at the Hualalai Golf Course in Kp'upulehu-Kona, Hawaii. The purse for this tournament is $1,800,000 and last year John Cook was able to take home the title and walk away with the grand prize of $305,000. Coming up after that will be the February 10th - 12th Allianz Championship, held at the Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton.
